Privacy Policy

Mantelbook (“Mantelbook,” “we,” “us”) turns a rental property’s address into a guest guidebook — a shareable web page and a printable QR sign. This policy applies to our website and the Mantelbook application. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@mantelbook.com.

We collect the following, depending on how you use Mantelbook:

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash), or your Google account details if you sign in with Google.
• Property information — the addresses you enter, optional listing links, and the intake details you provide for each property (such as wifi network names, door codes, parking notes, house rules, and host contact info). Some of these are sensitive; see “How we protect sensitive details” below.
• Guidebook content — the generated and edited text, places, and notes that make up each guidebook, including anything you publish to a public guest page.
• Billing information — your subscription plan and status. Card details are collected and processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
• Usage and device data — basic analytics about how the site is used, and standard server logs (such as IP address and request metadata) used for security and reliability.

• To create, generate, edit, publish, and host your guidebooks.
• To run AI research on the property address and area, and to compile the results into your guidebook.
• To authenticate you, secure your account, and operate the service.
• To process subscriptions and payments.
• To send transactional emails (such as email verification, password resets, and important account notices).
• To monitor, debug, and improve reliability and performance.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your guidebook content to train our own models.

To generate a guidebook, we send the property address and related research prompts to our AI provider (Google, via the Gemini and Deep Research APIs) and, where configured, to an alternative research provider. These providers process this data to return research results and structured guidebook content. We do not send your guests’ personal information to these providers, and we configure them so your inputs are not used to train their models where that option is available.

Wifi passwords, door codes, and similar details you mark as sensitive are hidden on the public guest page behind a PIN that you set and share only with confirmed guests. They are never shown in the public version of a published guidebook.

We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run Mantelbook:

• Vercel — application hosting and analytics.
• Neon — our managed Postgres database.
• Google — Gemini / Deep Research APIs and Google sign-in.
• Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
• Resend — delivery of transactional emails.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.

We keep your account and guidebook data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a property or close your account, we delete the associated content within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@mantelbook.com and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure the service (for example, your session and the PIN unlock for guest pages). We use limited analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Mantelbook is intended for adults running short-term rentals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Mantelbook after an update means you accept the revised policy.
